Super i's

"Super i's" is a project about young superheroines who fight prejudice and injustice. It's a series of seven comics of five pages each and aims to show examples of just and empowered girl characters to inspire kids and teens.

Each comic brings a superheroine who depicts an issue addressed by the project (like racism, homophobia, bias, etc.), seeking to represent diversity and defy stereotypes. The stories revolve around the protagonists using their superpowers to show a solution or to inspire empathy.

"Super i's" is a project developed by Associação Plano i in the UNigualdade IV programme scope, which seeks to promote equality, prevent and fight discrimination and gender violence. It is co-finnanced by CIG (Comissão para a Cidadania e a Igualdade de Género).

Please check our Instagram account to know more about these supergirls and read their stories (Portuguese only).

I illustrated two comics in this projects, "Super Jo", a transgender girl, and "Super Nyah", a black girl. They both face prejudice in school, and their stories are about becoming stronger through their unique characteristics while fighting preconceptions.
